Meet the Carlsbad Concrete Group Team

Marco Villanueva

Owner

Marco started as a concrete finisher on North County tract jobs and opened Carlsbad Concrete Group 11 years ago. He still walks every estate drive and retaining wall layout before it is quoted, and checks the base and steel before a truck is called.

Kelsey Brandt

Location Manager, Carlsbad

Kelsey runs the coast schedule from the Carlsbad yard, from the first site walk to the final walkthrough, and handles every Carlsbad, Encinitas, Solana Beach and Del Mar job.

Devon Okafor

Devon covers the estate side of the business: Rancho Santa Fe, Fairbanks Ranch, Elfin Forest and Harmony Grove, including long private drives, sport courts and barn slabs.

Luis Herrera

Luis manages the inland jobs in Poway, Bonsall and Lake San Marcos, where clay soils, horse property and longer truck routes change how a pour is planned.

Estimator

Natalie measures every job, shoots the grades and writes the itemized quote that names the tear-out, base, reinforcement, finish and joint layout.

Tom Avila

Finishing Foreman

Tom leads the finishing crew on pour day: screeding, floating, stamping or broom finishing, and cutting the control joints before the slab can crack on its own.

How a Concrete Job Moves From Site Walk to Pour Day

Natalie measures and quotes first, and most jobs are typically poured 1 to 3 weeks after a signed quote, longer when a permit is needed. Your location manager confirms the base depth, the steel and the finish, and books any inspection before the truck is ordered. Tom's crew then places, finishes and saw-cuts the slab. Most 2-car driveway repours take an estimated 2 to 5 days, and cars typically stay off the new slab for about 7 days.

What a Project With Our Crew Typically Costs

A broom-finish slab with our crew typically runs $6 to $13 per sq ft installed, and tear-out, thickness and the finish move it most. A stamped patio of about 400 sq ft is typically estimated at $3,200 to $7,600, and a pool deck replacement is estimated at roughly $4,800 to $18,000. We take a deposit of no more than 10% or $1,000, whichever is less, under California's home improvement deposit cap, then progress payments as the work is done.

These numbers are estimates and are subject to change, and broom-finish concrete typically runs $6 to $13 per sq ft installed while stamped concrete typically runs $8 to $19 per sq ft installed. The written quote Natalie prepares after the site walk sets the final price and the schedule, and it depends on the square footage, the access and how much old concrete comes out.

Why Homeowners Trust a Crew They Can Name

Homeowners trust a contractor they can put faces to, and every person on this page works for Carlsbad Concrete Group rather than as a one-day sub. The owner who checks your forms, the estimator who measures your slab and the foreman who finishes it all answer to the same yard. Tear-out and haul-off of old concrete is included in every replacement quote. You can see their finished work in our concrete project case studies.

Service Areas by Location Manager

Each part of North County has its own manager across our 35-mile radius, so a call from Del Mar or Bonsall reaches someone who knows the soil and the streets. Kelsey covers Encinitas concrete jobs, Solana Beach driveways and Del Mar steps and walks. Devon covers Rancho Santa Fe estate drives and Fairbanks Ranch sport courts. Luis covers Poway slabs and barns and Bonsall horse property.
